The Onondaga Redhawks opened up their season with a victory over the visiting Tonawanda Braves 18-5. Ross Bucktooth anchored the defense in goal as the Redhawks built a 5-2 first period lead.
The second period saw a Redhawk offensive explosion as they were able to string together 10 goals to the Tonawanda’s single tally. The Redhawks were paced by AJ Bucktooth (5,3), Dwayne Porter (2,3), Drew Bucktooth (2,3), Dave Stout (1,4) Murray Stout (1,4), Ryan Lewis (2,1), Dustin Hill (1,2), Shawn Hill (1,1), and single tallies by JD Jones, Ron Cogan, and Lloyd Elm.
The Redhawks were also very honored to host the Saint Albans Bulldogs High School lacrosse team from Mayland. Earlier that day, the Bulldogs traveled to West Genesse High School and defeated the Wildcats 6-4. The team was very excited to visit Onondaga: a place where the game began. The Redhawks would like to wish the Bulldogs ‘Good luck’ in completeing their 2008 season and to invite them back again.
