In a surprising announcement, Can-Am officials have confirmed that the Pinewoods Smoke will not be competing in the 2018 season.
The Smoke, based out of the Seneca territory at Cattaraugus, has long been a staple of Can-Am Lacrosse. The Onondaga Redhawks who were planning to open their season by hosting the Smoke on April 21st. Now The Redhawks will open the campaign on Sunday, April 29th as they travel to Cattaraugus to play the 2017 defending Can-Am Champion, Native Sons.
The Redhawks home opener is now scheduled to be on Saturday, May 5th versus Buffalo Creek.
