The Onondaga Redhawks opened up the 2004 season with a loss to Pinewoods 15-9. The Smoke opened up the first period with 5 unanswered goals before Craig Marvin talled to closed out the first period 5-1.
The second period saw the Redhawks storm back with six unanswed goals. It was the Al Jones and Ben Hunt show as each player took turns adding tallies to close out the second period with the Redhawks trailing Pinewoods 7-8.
After trading goals with Pinewoods in the beginning of the third period, the Smoke scored 3 goals in 30 seconds to put the game out of reach.
The Redhawks were lead by Al Jones 3-4, Ben Hunt 4-2, Craig Marvin 2-2, Eric Carlsen 0-2 and Woke Shenandoah 0-1. While goaltender Doc Nelson recorded 56 saves. Up next for the Redhawks is a two game homestand stand with Pinewoods on Saturday and Tonawanda on Sunday.
