The Onondaga Redhawks ended their 2008 campaign Saturday, August 9, 2008 with an 8-6 loss to the visiting Six Nation Sting. On Friday the Redhawks lost game 5 at Six Nations and were looking to extend the Can-Am Championship to a game seven.
The Sting came to Onondaga looking to finish the series and came out focused to do so. The visitors built a 6-3 lead and looked as though they were going to cruise to a victory. The home Redhawks were not going to go away quietly. Slowly the Redhawks kept chipping away the Six Nations lead. Soon the home arena was full on energy as the game was tied at 6 in the third. But the Six Nations goaltender settled in and was able to turn away all of the Redhawks’ furious attacks while netting 2 goals of their own.
The Onondaga Redhawks congratulate the Six Nations Sting for a great championship series and wish them well in their bid for the Presidents Cup in Calgary Alberta.
