The Redhawks traveled to Cattaraugus to play the Pinewoods Smoke and emerged with a 14-11 victory. The Saturday night game was a game of spurts. The Redhawk shooters would score 3 goals in a 3 minute span then the Pinewoods goaltender would hold down the fort for long stretches. At the end of the first period, the Redhawks had a 5-4 lead. The second period saw another 3 goal spurt in the middle of the period to broaden the lead to 8-5. The final stanza saw the Redhawks begin the third with 3 goals in the first few minutes of action. The Pinewoods Smoke closed out the game with a three goal spurt of their own in the closing minutes of the game.
