The Red Hawks came out to show that they are indeed the top team in the East by sweeping The Pinewoods Smoke in weekend action. Saturday’s game saw Gewas Schindler score the first 2 Onondaga goals before Pinewoods was able to score their first goal. Brett Bucktooth was able to add the third Redhawk goal before the Smoke was able to score two goals of their own to bring the Smoke to within one goal. That would be the closest the visitors would get as over the next two periods the Redhawks outscoreed Pinewoods 13-1. During that run, Grant Bucktooth, Neal Powless, and Scott Ditzel were able to score seconds after winning the faceoff.

Brett Bucktooth started Sunday’s matchup with Pinewoods by scoring on the Redhawks first posession ensuring that the Redhawks would not trail the entire weekend. The Redhawks were able to build on their lead as the Onondaga power-play steadily added talley after tally to build a 6-1 lead after the first period.
The speedy Mike Abrams was able to pressure the Pinewood attackers and create offensive opportunites throughout the game. Mike was able to tally three straight goals in the second. Gewas Schinlder was able to find open space to score 2 quick goals to start the opening of the second period to build a comfortable cushion for goaltender Jeff Powless.
