Game 4
The Redhawks traveled to Hagersville and defeated the Mohawk Storm 12-7 Friday night to end the best of seven series 4 games to none. The early minutes of the game saw both defenses play well as neither team was able to get a quality shot on goal. Then in the fifth minute, the Storm was able to get by goal tender Jim Campbell for a 1-0 lead. Then 3 minutes later, Art Powless scored off a feed by Percy Abrams as they fought off 4 Storm defensemen to score the Redhawks first goal. The rejuvenated Redhawks then applied more pressure on the Storm goal tender and Percy Shenandoah was able to add in a tally of his own a minute later giving the Redhawks their first lead at 2-1. The period finished with the visitors holding a 4-2 lead.
The second period was a Redhawk explosion as goal tender Jim Campbell stopped all early Storm scoring opportunities and AJ Bucktooth, Dave Stout, and Neal Powless added quick scores extending the lead to 7-2 after the opening three minutes. After a Storm tally, the Redhawks lead by Art Powless scored 4 more goals to make the Redhawk lead 11-3. The frustrated Storm began to pile up penalty minutes and in the closing minutes, three fights ensued in which three Storm players were ejected as well as Redhawk Percy Shenandoah.
The third period saw the Redhawks hold the ball for the entire 30 second possession clock to take as much time off the clock. The Storm was able to tally four goals before Vern Abrams was able to end the scoring with an empty net tally as the game ended at 12-7.
