The Redhawks traveled out to Six Nations and defeated the Storm 11-6. The Storm scored first in the openinf minutes of the game to be followed by a Neal Powless goal to tie the game. The Storm took the lead again with a goal midway through the period. As the period entered the final minutes, Ron Cogan scored to tie it at 2 and Neal Powless gave the Redhawks their first lead.
Neal Powless Started the second period by adding his third tally of the game. Then attacker Pete Benedict was able to find his rythum by scoring four goals in the period. With Mike Abrams also adding a talley of his own the Redhawks wer able to outscore the Storm six goal to four to take a 9-6 lead going into the third.
The third period saw goaltender Jeff Powless and the Redhawk defense take control. The defense held the Storm scoreless for the final 20 minutes of play as Mike Abrams and Ron Cogan added third period scores to close out the Redhawks tenth win of the season.
Last Sunday, there was 90 degree heat and oppresive humidity. Usually that means a great day for an outdoor lacrosse game. Onondaga traveled to Tonawanda and defeated the braves 13-7. Lead behind Brett Bucktooth’s 5 goals and 2 assists the Redhawks lead the game throughout.
