The Onondaga Red Hawks started out the 2005 season with a bang by defeating Eastern Division rival Pinewoods Smoke 17-2. The Red Hawks avenged last year’s opening season loss by matching the Smoke defensive intensity and showing their offensive firepower throughout the contest. Offensively, the Red Hawks were lead by Pete Benedict’s 3 goals and 2 assists, Murray Stout’s 2 goals and 3 assists, and Ron Cogan and AJ Bucktooth both scoring 3 goals and adding assist white 6 other Red Hawks added single tallies.
