Saturday saw the league leading Newtown Golden Eagles come to Onondaga. Despite veteran Neal Powless’ 4 goals and 4 assists in the first two periods, the Redhawks and the Eagles were tied at 10 goals a piece heading into the final period. A Newtown goalie change led to a change in the momentum as Newtown went on to a 20-12 win.
Sunday saw the Redhawks in need of a win to keep pace with the league leaders. Earlier in the year the Redhawks traveled to Six nations and lost 14-6. Wade Bucktooth made sure that did not happen again. His 5 goals paced the Redhawks for an exciting 8-7 win over the visiting Slash.
Up next for the Redhawks is a visit to the first place Newtown on Saturday June 4.
