Onondaga Redhawks face elimination when they travel to Allegany to face the Arrows on July 20th in the Can-Am semi-final best of 5 series.
The series opened last Friday in Allegany. The home team arrows took a 2-0 lead before Korie Halftown opened the scoring for the Redhawks. After Lee Nanticoke and the Arrows traded goals, the Redhawks found themselves trailing 4-3 with three minutes before the end of the period. That is when the Redhawks erupted for three straight goals by Kevin Bucktooth, Leroy Halftown, and Cree Cathers to take a 6-4 lead.
Unfortunately for the Redhawks, the Arrows outscored the Redhawks 7-3 for the rest of the game for an 11-9 win.
Game two saw the series shift back to Onondaga but the hometown Redhawks were not able to stop the momentum of the Arrows from the night before falling 10-5.
The Arrows were up 2-0 before Dave Limbooris tallied the first Redhawk goal at the halfway point of the period. James Cathers added another tally while the Visting Arrows added 2 more for a 4-2 first period lead.
The second period saw the Edmund Cathers score 1 while the arrows added two more. The final period saw Chris Laurita and Edmund Cathers tally single goals while the Arrows added three more of their own.
The Redhawks will travel to Allegany on Friday, June 20th to try to force a game 4 back at Onondaga Saturday.
