Redhawks defeat Tonawanda Braves 2 game to none in Can-Am Semifinals.
The Tonawanda Braves reached the semis by defeating the Newtown Golden Eagles. Game 1 saw the Onondaga Redhawks dominate on both ends of the floor. A great pressing defense didn’t allow the Braves many scoring opportunities and creative passing allowed for pretty Redhawk talleys. Game 2 at Tonawanda saw a closer score but a similar result, a 13-7 win.

The winner of this series will represent the Can-Am in the President’s Cup in Burnaby, British Colombia Canada. The President’s Cup matches championions from teamsin all Providences across Canada. Last year the Redhawks and Niagara battled in the Can-Am final. The Redhawks outscored the Hawks but lost the series 4 games to 2 and the Niagara Hawks were crowned 2009 Can-Am Champions.
This Friday night matchup meets the two top teams from the season. With the Can-Am Championship set for a best of 3 series, The Redhawks hope to take game 1 on their own floor. Game 2 is set for Niagra at the Leisure Plex and Game 3 (if necessary) will be back at Onondaga Sunday afternoon.
