The Onondaga Redhawks are heading to their first President’s Cup since 1993 with a 12-7 victory over the Newtown Golden Eagles. The Redhawks were very eager to earn their league championship in over 12 years by hustling after the opening whistle for all of the loose balls. Lead by goal-tender Jeff Powless, the Redhawks had an early lead which they protected with a strong defense.
The Redhawks not wanted to extend the series to a game 5, were lead by: Gewas Schindler 1g- 5a, Pete Behedict 3g -2a, Neal Powless 2g- 2a, Brett Bucktooth 2g- 1a, Dave Stout 1g-1a, Dustin Hill 1g-1a, Scott Ditzell 0g- 2a, Ed Shenandoah 0g- 2a, Dwayne Porter 0g- 2a, Mike Abrams 1g- 0a, A.J. Bucktooth 1g- 0a, Percy Shenandoah 0g- 1a and Murray Stout Jr 0g- 1a.
The Redhawks would like to thank Newtown and its fans for a great series and are very proud to carry the Can-Am banner into the Senior B President’s Cup Championships in Waterloo, Ontario. The Redhawks also say a “Nya wenha!” to all of its great fans (young and old), community, arena staff, and chiefs abd clanmothers for their support in our championship season!!!<
