Onondaga GM Alfie Jacques finalized the signing earlier this week of Jeremy Thompson. Jeremy Thompson, Onondaga hawk clan, is currently a standout midfielder with Syracuse University. Jeremy was named to the second team All-American Team while totaling 15 goals and 8 assists winning 78 of 134 face-offs.
Jeremy joined the team on this Saturday’s away win at Tonawanda 14-5. The Braves welcomed the Redhawks with their beautiful new turf and box for a great night of lacrosse. Ross Bucktooth anchored the goaltending keeping the scoring low as they held a 2-1 lead.
The second period saw the Redhawks continue to pressure the home team on both ends of the floor. Soon the lead began to expand lead by Jeremy’s all around play on defense transitioning into fast break opportunities.
Veteran forward Neal Powless said of his new teammate Jeremy Thompson, “He brings tremendous speed on the right side. He uses his speed to create many other scoring opportunities for his teammates to score. He will make is difficult for other defenses with AJ, Brett, Drew (Bucktooth), and Dave Stout to side without giving up a quality shot.”
The third period saw Onondaga continue to tallying goals while limiting Tonawanda scoring opportunities. The Redhawks will next face Newtown on Saturday June 19 at Tsha’Honnonyendakwha’.
